- Beth Slatyer completed her studies in immunology at the Australian National University, and went on to pursue a career in health policy and administration in the Australian and South Australian Health Departments. Her primary focus has been on improving health care systems and addressing the fundamentals which ensure affordable, accessible and safe health care. She has been engaged in reforms to primary care, health financing and the health workforce for the Australian health care system. Beth also has a strong interest in improving the safety and quality of health care, and was Executive Director of the Review of Governance Arrangements for Safety and Quality in Health Care which reported to the Australian Health Ministers’ Conference in 2006. Beth’s current work at AusAID focuses on strengthening health systems to improve service delivery in Asia and the Pacific.
